For Local Moving (25 mile radius from Origin to Destination) we offer a very competitive hourly moving rate.

The size of your move will dictate the number of required professional movers necessary and determine the applicable hourly rate. Big or small, local or long distance, residential or commercial, civilian or military - our trained professional staff is fully equipped and ready to help you make the right decisions that will aid you in keeping the overall cost of your move to a minimum.

Long Distance moving rates are all basically similar. However, the range and quality of service may very tremendously. The cost of a move includes basic transportation charges based on the weight of the shipment and miles traveled. The total cost includes charges for declared valuation above the movers liability, plus charges for extra services such as packing and other accessorial services.

Affiliated will arrange a free estimate survey to assist you in determining your estimated moving cost. Once we have scheduled your move with our world class carrier, United Van Lines, our qualified "Move Coordinators" will manage your entire moving process from start to finish.

Many of the steps for preplanning an international move is similar to those of a domestic move. Special allowances must be made for the necessary paperwork and the various rules and regulations existing in the United States and foreign countries.

The rate to an overseas destination is based upon the weight and cubic measurement of the household goods when packed for a shipment. It includes air, or ocean, transportation charges and the packing and unpacking services of the carriers origin and destination agents.

Your Affiliated representative will conduct an in home survey and contact United Van Lines International for a very competitive rate quote.

Moving your business and/or commercial goods is a tedious and detail oriented task that requires special care and a company with great time management skills to help ensure that your down time is as minimal as possible.

Often times a great deal of disassembly is required, and once the fixture is moved it must be reassembled properly. Many of our customers have "fire safes" which require special handling.

Affiliated has been providing commercial moving services to many of our "Business Neighbors" for years. When it comes to business, we realize the importance of getting you moved as smoothly and quickly as possible so as not to create excess down time.

Below is a Checklist with some general guidelines to help you move more smoothly.

Before You Move

Obtain the brochure Ready to Move? and the booklet Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move from the mover.
Ask for recommendations from neighbors, friends, and relatives regarding the mover.
Check with the Better Business Bureau regarding the mover.
Find out what the mover's responsibilities are for damages that may occur to your belongings.
Ask if the mover has a dispute settlement program.
Check to determine whether the interstate mover is registered with FMCSA, and has a USDOT number.
Find out how and when pickup and delivery of your household goods will occur
Ask the mover how they can be contacted before the move, during the move, and after the move
Adequately insure your belongings.

Moving Day

Be present to answer questions and give directions to the movers. Stay until they finish
Accompany the movers as they inventory your items and resolve any questions regarding the condition of materials being moved.
Carefully read the information on the estimate, order for service, bill of lading, inventory, and all other completed documents before you sign them.
Keep the bill of lading until your goods are delivered, the charges are paid, and any claims are settled.
Before the moving van leaves, take one final look throughout the house to make certain nothing has been left behind.
Give the driver directions to your new home.
Inform the driver and the moving company of where you can be reached during the move.

Delivery Day

Be present to answer any questions and give directions.
Pay the driver, according to the term of your agreement, before your goods are unloaded.
Supervise unloading and unpacking of your goods.
Note on the inventory list all boxes or other items that are damaged before you sign any documents.
